Water Supply
The water supply for the hospital was not owned by the hospital. We have been instrumental in assisting with well drilling. Further equipment and work is needed to make the water safe for use.
Electricity
The hospital’s electrical system needs to be updated because it is often unstable. Reliable electricity protects the hospital’s machines and keeps their life-saving services from being interrupted.
Properly installed and reliable electricity provides safety and infrastructure necessary to operate a hospital.
Health Information Management System and Computer Network
The hospital is planning to use a new Health Information Management Software System so that they can access patients medical histories in both the clinic and inpatient settings.
The hospital’s current network is outdated and cannot support an HIMS.
All bills are paid electronically and it is difficult to manage daily activities when the networks fail daily or are extremely slow.
Patient Charity
Patients sometimes do not have the ability to pay for life-changing treatments. Friends of Litein can assist these patients by paying for services for needy patients.
Operational Expenses
When patients’ bills are not paid in a timely manner, the hospital faces a cash flow problem that makes it difficult to cover operational expenses such as staff salaries, utilities, equipment maintenance, medicines, and supplies. Friends of Litein can help the hospital cover some of these operational expenses.
Oxygen Generator Plant
Oxygen generation plant: In 2023, Friends of Litein purchased a new oxygen compressor for the oxygenator, which provided a temporary solution. The oxygen plant has failed again, and it needs a permanent solution.
